(Note: Considering this is non-Len'en but involves the community in a way, I thought to post this here in BtB, but I'm still really not sure. So admins, if there's a better place to put this, either now or in the future, just let me know.) So, I know at least a few of you guys in the Discord server know that I've been doing a playthrough of Dwarf Fortress. That is, a playthrough where I name the dwarves after members of the community. Y'know, just for shits and giggles. I figured I'd post the playthrough's progression in this thread, for anyone curious to know how it's going. I guarantee there'll be some stuff worth sharing. This is DF, after all. Shenanigans are frequent. I'm also writing out a fictional narration of the playthrough, in the eyes of the "boss" dwarf in charge of everything. If anyone's interested in reading that, this be the linky-link. Otherwise, I'll just be putting basic stuff in this thread for easy reading. Also, chances are I'll get to using everyone's names in due time, since we're a pretty small community, and... dwarf populations boom pretty frequently. If you'd rather I DON'T name a dwarf after you, just gimme the word. I know there's been at least one. Otherwise, if I run out, I'll be forced to use incredibly silly names. THE HORROR!
That said, stuff involving your dwarf isn't guaranteed.
So, that's about all I have for the moment. I'll divide the session logs into their own replies for relative convenience. Hope y'all enjoy~

Session 1:
- The fortress "Craftpractice" has been founded. The primary goal of the fortress is to train and house the best sculptors and masons in the world. The seven founders are Pruns (formerly "Jarl Ulfric"), Tony64, Reni, Umbra, Alex, Sophietta, and Roomba. - Umbra, being the only dwarf to know any masonry at the time, creates the first four statues of the fortress. - Sophietta, despite making the first work fields for agriculture, has difficulty understanding where she put the plant seeds (even though there was only one stockpile for food-related items). - When the first autumn comes, the fortress has welcomed its first migrant wave. I've forgotten how many had arrived, and all I remember in terms of the names is that (based on a suggestion in Discord) one was named "Fus", his wife was named "Ro", and their only daughter was "Dah". - At the time of the first trade caravan arriving, Ro brings in a rabbit they hunted. But, since a butcher shop wasn't built yet, she dropped it in the middle of the dining hall, allowing it to fill the room with the repulsive stench of rotting flesh. - At this point, Umbra loves making statues of an ettin (two-headed giant) killing dwarves, based on legends. - Sophietta drops her duties suddenly, being the first dwarf to catch a Strange Mood (basically, a dwarf gets a huge compulsion to create a legendary, super-high-quality object called an Artifact). They then create "Mesir Mamot", a ring made of almond wood. - Harujion and Ro team up to carve the inner stone walls of the fortress, to make it look more fancy. - A dwarf named Scrappy contributes to the statue collection, but also makes the same murderous ettin that Umbra is fond of sculpting. The ettin has become a meme in Craftpractice.
For more details, read the narrated log!

Session 2:
- After Craftpractice is able to sustain itself, all dwarves are ordered to take up masonry. - Another migrant wave arrives. Not many newcomers are creatively inclined, to our chagrin. Also, there's a lot of children now. - Zaro is given the Manager role, to make it easier to give work orders. This also makes her the first noble in the fortress. - The fortress has survived its first year. - Alex becomes the top marksdwarf, and is granted the role of commander of their own militia of archers. Their squad name is, "The Clay Pigeon Shooters". - Four more masonry workshops are built to increase productivity. Two notable beginners are ALIEN and Nyanners.
This session was fairly short, as you can see. Of course, the fictional narration log provides more details!
At this point, just assume it always will.

Session 3:
- One of the dwarven children, Wodkanna, has grown up into an adult. Funny enough, she's actually ALIEN's daughter. - Umbra crafts a peculiar statue of Alex hugging Tony64. From this, I've discovered that the two have actually become lovers. - The population grows to 58, and Phantasm is elected as Mayor (even though he was one of the most recent migrants at this point). - After said election, the role of Sheriff was made unavailable, to the chagrin of "Medidididias". - The pet dogs have been breeding like mad. Puppies are everywhere! A food shortage occurred at this time as well, and the dwarves are forced to react to this quite... controversially. - One of the children gets possessed into a Strange Mood. Their name? "Pudding in a Soup Can". - Craftpractice starts to prioritize mining underground. Dwarves start to act like dwarves (but in actuality, it's because the possessed Pudding in a Soup Can required metal bars for their Artifact, which was unavailable). - Another migrant wave. Dwarven children are flagrantly abundant now.
This is the last session I've recorded at this point. I'm sure I'll do another one soon enough, though. Like I've said, the narration log provides more detail, as well as more character!

Session 4:
- BusiedGem's spectacular family of musicians moves in to Craftpractice. His wife is Lyrica Live, their one boy is Elvis, and their daughter is Whitney Houston. - A migrant dwarf named Geoffrey is adamant that they work as "a Giraffe". - TWIN PICKS refuses to do anything except mining. On a similar note, Roomba refuses to do dirty work. Literally. - Pudding in a Soup Can could not get their metal bars on time, and they enter a debilitating depression (basically, they're doomed to die of thirst or starvation). The fortress is overcome with pity. By the way, their father is Scarf, and their mother is MyonNyanMukyuu. - In an attempt to keep everybody's chins up, Naoi Ikumo makes two statues of Pruns giving motivational speeches to all the dwarves. - Another autumn comes. A mercenary named Skirtslayer takes residence. - In a wacky chase to hunt down a porcupine, Nasubi and Popfan fall into a nearby creek. Fortunately, they could both swim out. - After building a small temple, mortuary, tanning shop, and leather shop, the wife of Geoffrey (named Cocotine) enters a Strange Mood. Luckily, the needed materials were relatively easy to obtain. - None of the dwarves can figure out that prepared meats need to go into the food stockpile. As a result, they spoil in the butcher's shop, bringing about a disgusting miasma. - Mayor Phantasm, in an attempt to better the fortress' economy, has banned the export of buckets. This one was longer than the last two, and more feels-y because of Pudding in a Soup Can's slow and painful withering. But of course, the narration log gives more info.

Session 5:
- Cocotine creates Kinemkilrud, an amulet of porcupine bone. - A lot of cooked foods are spoiling, and taking up space in the refuse pile. - Every resident is recorded. Check the narrated log to see if you have a dwarf, and what their job is! - An eagle falls out of the sky, dead from unknown causes. - More migrants. Every new migrant will be recorded from here on out. - A tiger makes a surprise visit. - The game crashes.
Session 5.2:
- Nothing much has changed since the crash, fortunately. - The tiger has become a giant tiger, and avoids all methods of capture until the hunters kill it. - Haru makes a peculiar engraving. - Intense Cliffhanger!
No joke, the next session will be starting with a relatively major event. Tune in next time to find out what~!

Session 6:
- The wereass Cog Zuntiregast attacks Craftpractice. Alex, Cpt. Jack Sparrow, and Skirtslayer are killed, with four other dwarves and one human mercenary wounded. Fortunately, the wereass curse hadn't been passed on to anyone. - Action to strengthen the fortress military has taken its first steps. Pruns is now captain of the fortress guard. - Tony64 is overall caught up in grief over Alex's death. - Yamano gets possessed into a Strange Mood. - Susie Derkins enters adulthood, more rooms and workshops are getting built, and 8 more statues are sculpted. - A statue of the goddess Tumam is inexplicably covered in giant cave spider webs one day. - Yamano creates Gidurfotther Girust, a left mitten made of deer leather. The fortress has run out of leather. - Wanting to keep better track of stocks, Oscarmeyer Wilde is assigned the position of Bookkeeper. - Phantasm orders a single quiver to be crafted, despite the fact there's no more leather. However, a leftover cage trap catches a giant cardinal to be used for butchering. - Our first batch of chicks hatch, allowing for more food when they grow up.
Like the last entry, the game actually crashed mid-session, but I didn't want to incorporate the same writing trick as last time. Sooo, I cut it from the Google Doc. But if there's demand for it, I can make a separate doc for the alternate writings and post a link (not that there's too much difference).

Session 7:
- A deep, deep stairway is carved out underground. The stairway goes down far enough to reach underground caverns teeming with life. - The stairway leads down into a sea of magma, and the only ore to find down there is adamantine (which happens to be the most valuable ore in the game). - The dwarves dig some up, and discover the deposits are hollow. A tunnel leads below the magma sea, where a legion of demons climb up to the surface. The dwarves have literally dug their way down to Hell. - The fortress is abandoned, and assumed to be overrun by demons. - We revisit the fortress as a lone adventurer, just to see how things fared for the place a few months later. The only known living residents are the dwarven children, bunked in the bedrooms.
Due to general disinterest from everyone else, this is the last session that will be recorded. I wanted to at least let this playthrough end on an interesting note, so I chose to end it with Hell. Check out the narrated log to see what some of the demons looked like. They can be strangely fascinating. Anyhow, hope y'all liked this contribution in some fashion.
